I have just returned from Egypt; and, as usual, it was a trip filled with mystical adventures, spiritual insights and magical meetings. I have never felt more safe or more at home there!
We spent Thanksgiving on the Nile and viewed the spectacular Super Moon from Luxor Temple. Egypt will be in our hearts always, as our prayers for peace and compassion echoed with those of like-minded souls around the world. As we begin the “Season of Peace”, it is the time for sharing our gifts and for being grateful for the blessings of family and friends.
For those of you on Facebook, follow me to see the Egypt videos and photos to my Timeline. I am also opening registration for the March 2017 trip! Newsflash: US State Dept. says it is now “safe” for travel to Egypt.
Full Moon in Gemini December 13, 2016
The Full Moon of December 13 falls in 22 degrees Gemini, the sign of the Twins. Gemini is the quintessential Air sign, the mental communicator of the zodiac. This mentally oriented Full Moon follows last month’s Taurus Super Full Moon, which was packed full of emotional intensity.
The sign Gemini is ruled by the planet, Mercury, the Messenger of the gods. The message here is that we are not just ruled by our emotions. Mind and Heart need to work as one, not battle each other for psychic supremacy. It is the ability to think and communicate (whether written, spoken or telepathically) which allows all humans to learn, disseminate knowledge, and evolve to new awareness.
Astrologically, Gemini is represented by the symbol of the Twins, which we can decode as the left and right brain; logic and intuition working together. Words ARE powerful. They can create new worlds or destroy them. Rhetoric, propaganda, and media spins can have a brain-washing effect, if we are not discerning individuals. Negative thought forms bombard us ceaselessly. We must learn to turn off the “interference” and pay more attention to our own inner guidance. If you are not sure how to do that, take a meditation or yoga class…breathe more…walk in nature.
Today’s scientific discoveries have raised the bar on the human condition. Scientists have measured that the more we think a particular thought, the deeper the pathway in the brain becomes. Repeating mantras and positive affirmations now have a sound basis in scientific fact. As we look at opening up to new cognitive abilities, it is also important to realize that we are creating new worlds. Inner space, outer space, cyberspace…we are pushing boundaries in all directions.
During this Full Moon, our thoughts, our beliefs and especially, our words are “resonance messengers” transmitting vital information to our brains, our cells, and our world at large. This is the perfect time to declare your “Thanks” by giving to others and by being grateful for all that you have in your life. There is no glass ceiling on the Truth. “As a man thinks, so he is.”
Planetary Pictures: Sun/Saturn Conjunction
During this Full Moon the Sun and Saturn) are both together (conjunct) in the sign of Sagittarius.
The Sun with Saturn in Sagittarius is all about higher law, philosophy and religious views. This signals some very serious rhetoric going on. Saturn likes to follow the rules: law and order. With these planets opposing the Moon in Gemini, we must be cautious of overreacting emotionally to words (and the media), especially political or religious overreaction. The asteroid Chiron added to this mix emphasizes that we must really focus on what is positive, as old issues may resurface to be cleared once again. It is important to remember that negative words and thoughts reinforce negative reality.
The antidote for Saturnine patriarchal heaviness is to add more Venus into the mix…affirm the love and gratitude in your life…if you keep firing up those positive neurons, it will eventually become your reality. Find something that makes you feel good and do more of it. Winter days mean less sunlight and fewer opportunities to experience fresh air and physical exercise, so it is increasingly important to unplug from the media matrix for a few hours every day and give yourself a rest. Listen to a relaxing audio tape, read a good book, meditate, or try a few yoga exercises on your own. Even ten minutes a day spent “unplugged” can have lasting benefits for your physical and mental health.
Grand Air Trine
Both Venus and Mars are in the progressive, scientific, intellectually freedom-oriented sign of Aquarius right now and making the very positive aspect (called a grand trine) to the Moon in Gemini and Jupiter in Libra.
The Grand trine energy helps to mitigate the “heaviness” of the Sun/Saturn conjunction. Although outer events may be unpredictable due to the “maverick” side of Aquarius (especially in terms of relationships) there is a strong sense of compromise and reconciliation in the air. Our hope, idealism, and faith in the future can be rekindled. Aquarius also has great impact in the natal chart of the US (Moon in Aquarius). Politically, there can be more potential for creating win-win situations, if we can avoid the trap of the “blame-game” and keep an open mind.
Wherever the sign of Gemini falls in your chart by house position will be activated by this Full Moon.
Gemini symbolizes how we perceive the universe around us and then convert it into our “knowingness”. For example, if you have Gemini in the 5th house, you may have a creative skill or hobby that you want to develop more fully (books, music, crafts, sports, etc.); or you may do work that involves children .Gemini in the 7th can experience an active social life. Gemini in the 11th may join diverse groups, organizations or social media groups.
The part of the body ruled by Gemini is the arms, hands and respiratory system. Breathing problems, allergies, nervous disorders, and restless anxiety are all Gemini related issues. During this Full Moon(even though it is a holiday), it is important to find time to relax and spend a few quiet moments on your own, as the psychic bombardment around us can take quite a toll on our nervous systems. Gemini’s, in particular, may feel like they are on “overwhelm”, so try to spend a few hours “unplugged” from your telecommunications and computer devices. What “feeds” your brain? Junk thoughts and mindless chatter? Or expanding your mind and communicating honestly.
This is the perfect time for making that Christmas/New Year ”Gratitude List” and remembering who, and what, is important in your life amidst the holiday celebrations.
